SAUSAGE AND APPLE FRY 
1 smoked sausage ring
2 to 3 sm. apples, sliced (not peeled)
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. oatmeal
2 tbsp. wheat germ
1/4 c. slivered almonds
1 tsp. minced ginger

Steam sausage in 1 cup water until water has evaporated. Remove and cut into small pieces. Fry apples in cast iron skillet until tender. Do not overcook! Add brown sugar and 2 tablespoons water. Stir fry until sugar melts.

Remove apples to a round casserole. Place around edge. Add remaining ingredients with a little butter (tablespoon). Turn until lightly toasted. Remove and set aside.

Return sausage and brown quickly until heated through. Remove and place in center of casserole. Cover with toasted ingredients. Serve.
