SAUSAGE MACARONI CASSEROLE 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni
1 onion, sliced
2 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 lb. ground sausage
1/2 ground pepper, sliced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. American cheese or 2 c. grated cheese

Cook macaroni according to directions for baking; drain. Fry sausage meat, onion, and green pepper until lightly brown. Drain grease if in excess. Stir in flour and salt; add milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Place in a 1 1/2 quart casserole, alternating layers of macaroni and cheese. Pour sauce (flour, milk, and salt) over all and top with cheese. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Serves 6.
