MAMA'S SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE | |
3 cups sifted all purpose flour 3 cups sugar 2 sticks butter 6 eggs 1 cup sour cream 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. pure vanilla Preheat oven to 300°F. Cream together butter, vanilla and sugar; add eggs one at a time. Slowly add sifted flour to mixture. Mix baking soda into the sour cream in a separate cup or bowl, then add to the batter. Pour batter into a bundt cake pan and bake for 1 1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean. We like our pound cake without glaze or icing; however, you can make a glaze with water and powdered sugar. If your cake comes out like mine, though, it is so moist that you don't need a glaze.
