CRISP SWEET PICKLES 
5 lb. cucumbers
2 c. lime
4 c. vinegar
1/2 box pickling spices, tied in bag
7 c. sugar
Food color - red or green

Wash and slice cucumbers, place in large container with lime. Cover with water. Do not use aluminium pan. Allow to sit overnight. Next morning, rinse cucumbers several times. Soak 2 hours in clean cold water. Rinse again.

Combine sugar, vinegar, and spices in large container. Add cucumbers. Can add coloring. Cook 45 minutes to 1 hour after this boils. Pack cucumbers in jars. Pour liquid over pickles and seal.
