FRENCH COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sour cream 2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Cinnamon

Spread in pan 1/2 of the batter, then 1/2 of the topping; repeat. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake 35 to 45 minutes at 300 degrees.
