SWEDISH KRINGLER 
CRUST:

1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1-2 tbsp. water

Make crust using pastry method to blend flour and butter. Add water; pat on a cookie sheet in 2 strips (3 inches wide).

TOPPING:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. water
1 c. flour
3 eggs
1/2-1 tsp. almond extract

To prepare topping, melt butter in water and heat to boiling. Remove from heat and add flour. Stir until mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Add 3 eggs one at a time, and beat after each addition. Add almond extract. Spoon on top of strips on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes. When cool, frost with icing.

ICING:

1 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. almond extract

Add enough cream to make it spreadable.
