KRINGLER/SCANDANAVIAN PASTRY | |
1 c. butter 1 c. water 2 c. flour 1 tsp. almond extract 3 eggs Mix 1/2 cup butter with flour. Add 2-3 tbsp. water to form consistency of pie crust. Spread on ungreased cookie sheet with fingers, like pizza dough. Bring 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water to a boil. Add 1 cup flour and stir quickly. Add 1 egg at a time stirring briskly. Add almond extract. Stir and spread over crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes. When cool, spread with frosting. Should be eaten within 1-2 days after making. Does not freeze or keep well. FROSTING: Beat together and spread over pastry: 1/2 lb. confectioners' sugar 1 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. almond extract |
