NORWEGIAN KRINGLER | |
1 c. dairy sour cream 1 c. whipping cream 1/4 c. melted butter 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. anise seed 1 tsp. vanilla Mix sour and whipping cream and let stand. Beat above to blend well. Add sifted dry ingredients, mixing with knife or spoon (by hand). DRY INGREDIENTS: 1 1/4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt Chill dough for easier handling. Take out small piece. Roll to about 7 inch and as thick as your finger, they raise big in baking. Bake at 425 degree preheated oven 10 to 12 minutes until nicely browned. Makes about 30. (I beat an egg yolk and add a little water and baste the top of each before baking. Form each strip into eight shape by crossing ends.) |
