OATMEAL-MUSHROOM STEAKS | |
1 onion, chopped 3 tbsp. butter 3 eggs, well beaten 1 (4 oz.) can mushroom stems & pieces 2 c. uncooked oatmeal 2 cans hot water 1/2 tsp. Vegex 1 tsp. Vex in 1/2 c. hot water 1/2 c. canned milk 1 tsp. seasoned salt 1/2 tsp. thyme & paprika 1/2 tsp. sage & poultry seasoning 1 can mushroom soup Vegex can be substituted with soy sauce or beef seasoning. Saute onion in butter. Combine all ingredients except mushroom soup and 2 cans hot water. Mix well and let set in a covered bowl 45 minutes. Mold into small patties and fry in hot oil until browned. Arrange in a baking dish and cover with mixture of mushroom soup, hot water and 1/2 teaspoon Vegex seasoning. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Serves 6. |
