BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE 
1 1/2 c. dark brown sugar
4 tbsp. flour
1 c. boiling water
Pinch salt
4 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix the sugar with the flour. Pour in the boiling water and add salt. Cook in a saucepan, stirring frequently for about 8 minutes. If it seems too thick, add a touch more boiling water. Remove from the range and stir in butter, cream and vanilla.
