ITALIAN CASSEROLE | |
1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 (32 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce 1/3 c. water 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. basil 1 tsp. oregano 1/4 tsp. pepper 5 med. sliced potatoes, thin 1 (8 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese In skillet over medium heat, cook beef and onions until tender. Add sauce, water, salt, basil, oregano and pepper. Cook 2 minutes more. In 13 x 9 inch dish, evenly spoon one half of meat mixture, arrange one half of potatoes, then sauce, potatoes and remaining sauce. Bake at 375 degrees for one hour covered. Remove cover. Sprinkle cheese, bake for 10 minutes or more. |
