ADOBO 
1 chicken (about 2 lb.), cut into serving strips
1 lb. pork butt, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes or pork chops
1/2 c. vinegar
3 crushed garlic cloves
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. whole peppercorn

Mix all ingredients into a pot. Let stand an hour or even overnight. Cook, covered, on medium-high heat until mixture boils. Reduce heat to medium; turn meat and cook, covered, for one hour or until meat is tender and only a small amount of liquid is left.

Serves 6.

Note: Chicken or pork may be used individually.
