CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. cocoa, increase if desired
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together butter, shortening and then sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each one. All dry ingredients should be sifted together. Add dry ingredients and milk alternating until creamed mixture is smooth. Add vanilla.

Pour batter into tube pan or pound cake pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 80 minutes. Check with straw or sides pulling from pan for doneness according to your oven.

DELICIOUS WITH CHOCOLATE ICING GLAZE:

1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 sq. chocolate
1/3 c. milk
1/4 stick butter

Combine ingredients and cook until that forms a soft ball. Add vanilla. Beat slightly and dribble over cake.
