SCALLOPED OKRA 
6 med. okra
4 tomatoes, sliced
2 tbsp. bread crumbs (browned)
3/4 oz. butter
3/4 c. flour
1 pt. milk
pinch of salt, thyme and pepper

Mix together, add bread crumbs. Melt butter in a sauce pan. Add flour, then stir and cook for a few minutes. Add milk and stir until boiling starts. Season to taste. Simmer gently for 5 minutes. Place the mixture of okra and tomatoes in scallop shell or a buttered dish. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper. Add a little sauce, cover lightly with browned bread crumbs and bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
