BROWNIES 
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 c. white sugar
8 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening (oil)
4 eggs, unbeaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nut meats

Place first 7 ingredients in bowl and beat. Add nut meats. Bake in greased jelly roll pan 25 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. water
2 sqs. unsweetened chocolate
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine brown sugar, water, salt, butter, and chocolate. Cook for 3 minutes. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Stir until ready to spread on brownies.
