AUTUMN HARVEST PIE 
1 pie crust, unbaked
5 med. apples
1 c. fresh cranberries or 1 can whole cranberry sauce
1/2 c. coarsely broken walnuts
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. grated orange rind
1 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter (optional)

Make double pie crust. Mix all other ingredients lightly (except shortening). Spoon into pastry lined pan. Dot with butter. Put lattice work on top. Brush with 1 egg yolk mixed with 1 tbsp. of water. Bake at 375 degrees 30-40 minutes.
