SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Dash salt
1 c. raisins (optional)

Rolling Mixture: 1 tbsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar in mixing bowl. Beat in eggs. Sift together flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt; add to creamed mixture. Mix raisins in (optional). Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar/cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
