SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Dash of salt
1 c. raisins

ROLLING MIXTURE:

1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar in mixing bowl. Beat in egg. Sift together flour, soda, cream of tartar, and salt; add to creamed mixture. Mix in raisins. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.

This is my favorite snickerdoodle recipe. The cookie is always crisp around the edges and soft in the middle. I love this simple recipe. I do not add the raisins since I do not like them.
