SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES 
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix the shortening, sugar, butter and eggs thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into creamed mixture. Roll into balls the size of walnuts and roll them into a mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon. Bake in 350 degree oven for approximately 15 minutes. They will puff up and then flatten out.
