PASTRY: 7 tbsp. butter 1 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 2-3 tbsp. water, cold FILLING: 1 1/2 c. diced ham 1/3 c. finely chopped onion 1/2 c. cheddar cheese, shredded 1/2 c. Mozzarella cheese, shredded 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1/4 c. mushrooms 4 eggs 1 1/2 c. half and half 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper Cut butter in flour and salt until particles are size of small peas. Sprinkle in water Pat in 9"x9" pan. Sprinkle ham, onion, cheese, green pepper and mushrooms in pan. Beat eggs; add half and half and salt and pepper; pour over pastry. Bake, uncovered at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 300 degrees for 30 minutes. Test for doneness with knife in center. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Serves 9. |
