BUTTER RING CAKE 
1 c. butter (1/2 lb.)
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1/3 c. milk
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter and beat in sugar, a little at a time. Add yolks of eggs. Add sifted flour and milk alternately. Add baking powder, vanilla and lemon extract. Beat egg whites until firm and fold into batter. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Cool and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
