BUTTERMILK BISCUITS | |
1 c. all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. sugar 1/4 c. butter 1/3 c. buttermilk NOTE: Buttermilk is the milk left after churned. Baking powder developed in America for the first time in the 1850's. They are essential for biscuits. Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Roll dough on floured board, cut and place on greased sheet, let rise. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes or done. Yield: 1 dozen. |
