1 box Duncan Hines Devil Food cake mix
3 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 (12 oz.) can 7-Up

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Combine above and beat for 4 minutes. Grease and flour a 9x13-inch pan and pour in.

Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes.

DOBASH FROSTING:

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup Ghirardelli cocoa (no substitutes!)
3/8 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup water

Combine the first 4 ingredients and bring to boil. Combine next 3 ingredients and add to boiling mixture. Bring the frosting mixture to a boil again.

Pour while hot over cake and spread.
