APPLE ONION BAKE 
6-8 lg. tart apples
1 lg. onion, sliced thin
5 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. cinnamon
1 c. apple juice or apple cider
30-40 Ritz crackers, crushed

Saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter until golden, set aside. Mix sugar and cinnamon, set aside.

Melt 3 tablespoons butter in large saucepan, saute apples until tender, about 5 minutes. Butter 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Spoon half of apples evenly on bottom of casserole dish. Spread half of the onions over apples. Sprinkle with half of sugar mixture. Spread with half of Ritz crackers. Repeat all layers. Dot with remaining butter. Pour in apple juice or cider. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour until bubbly. Serves 6-8.
