ORANGE-DATE BARS 
1 c. dates (cut up)
18-20 candy orange slices (cut up)
3/4 c. water
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. sugar

Cook above until thick, stirring constantly (will scorch easily). Keep warm. 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 5 tbsp. hot milk 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt

Mix in order given and put half of dough in a 9x13 greased pan. Spread warm fruit filling over. Spoon remaining dough on top and spread. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes.
