NO - KNEAD YEAST BREAD | |
2 c. all-purpose flour 1 pkg. dry yeast 1 1/4 c. milk 1/2 c. butter 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg 1 1/4 c. whole wheat or all-purpose flour Grease pan with shortening 9 x 5 x 3 inch pan. 1. Sift 2 cups of flour in large bowl. Add yeast and mix with a wooden spoon. 2. Put milk, butter, sugar and salt into 1 quart saucepan. Put pan on burner to medium heat, cook and stir until butter melts and mixture is warm, 115 degrees. 3. Pour warm mixture over flour and yeast. Add egg; beat at low speed for 30 seconds; beat at high speed for 3 minutes. 4. Sift and gradually add the additional 1 1/4 cups of flour, beat until smooth. 5. Cover dough with greased wax paper and put in warm place to rise 1 hour. 6. Push dough down with wooden spoon. Place in greased pan and let rise 30 minutes. Then 10 minutes before time is up, preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 45 minutes. Cool before slicing. |
