MIMAW'S YEAST BREAD | |
1/2 c. milk 1 1/2 c. warm water 3 tbsp. butter 3 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 pkg. yeast 5 1/2 c. flour (plain) Scald milk, add sugar, salt and butter. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in water. Combine yeast, milk and 3 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Add rest of flour and turn out on lightly floured table and knead until bubble gum stage. Place in greased bowls; cover and let rise 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Punch down and knead a few times. Separate and put in greased pans. Let rise until almost double in size. Bake in 450°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes. In memory of Mack Cole. |
