LINDA'S BEST BUT SIMPLE MAC AND
CHEESE
 
2 cups elbow macaroni
3 cups milk
1 cup water
2 cups grated cheese
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter

Put milk and water into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Watch carefully so it doesn't boil over.

Just at that boiling point add macaroni and stir. Turn heat to low and let simmer with lid on, stirring carefully as macaroni will burn on the bottom. When macaroni is tender add butter and then grated cheese.

Eat as is or put in casserole dish with cheese on top and bacon or ham on top.
