ESCALLOPED CABBAGE WITH CHEESE 
3 c. cabbage
1/2 c. cheese
2 c. thick white sauce
1 c. butter bread cubes

Cook cabbage in salted water. Drain and put in buttered baking dish with grated or chopped Cheddar or white American cheese.

Prepare white sauce and pour over cabbage and cheese, or cheese may be melted in white sauce. Cover with buttered bread cubes. Bake at 325-350 degrees for 30 minutes.

WHITE SAUCE:

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk

Cook over low heat and pour over vegetables.
