PIZZA PUFF 
1 lb. pork sausage
8 slices white bread
1/3 c. tomato paste
1 1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, sliced
3 slightly beaten eggs
2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt

In skillet break up sausage; cook slowly, uncovered, for 15 to 20 minutes or until thoroughly cooked, turning meat to cook evenly. Drain well. Place 4 slices of the bread in bottom of a greased 8x8x2 inch baking dish.

Combine tomato paste and basil; spread over bread in pan. Place 1/2 of the cheese slices over. Spoon all of the sausage over cheese; place remaining cheese slices over sausage. Top with remaining bread slices, trimming crusts, if needed to fit.

In bowl combine eggs, milk and salt; blend well. Pour over bread in dish. Bake uncovered in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.
