BLACK WALNUT CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE | |
2 sticks butter 1/2 c. vegetable shortening 3 c. sugar 3 c. plain flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 5 eggs 1/2 tsp. salt 5 tbsp. cocoa 1 c. milk 1 tsp. black walnut flavoring 1/2 c. chopped black walnuts Cream well the butter, shortening, and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture, starting with flour mixture. Add flavoring. Fold in nuts. Bake in a well greased tube pan at 275 degrees for 1 hour and 55 minutes. Do not open oven during baking time. This is the best pound cake I have ever eaten. |
