MEXACALI CHILI 
2 lbs. ground beef or turkey
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. green pepper
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. paprika
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. basil leaves
2 sm. chili peppers or dash cayenne
2 (1 lb.) cans beans (chili or kidney)

Brown meat, add other ingredients. Drain fat. Simmer 1 hour. Add beans. Sprinkle with grated cheese before serving.
