PECAN PIE BARS 
1 yellow cake mix (reserve 2/3 c.)
1/2 c. melted butter
1 egg

FILLING:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 c. chopped pecans on top of filling

Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, butter and egg. Mix until stiff. Press in a pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Prepare filling; pour over baked crust and sprinkle with pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, until filling is set. Cool before cutting.
