PORK ROAST AND SAUERKRAUT 
3 - 3 1/2 lb. pork roast (frozen)
32 oz. jar Snowfloss sauerkraut

Place entire jar of sauerkraut in bottom of crock pot. Place pork roast on top of sauerkraut. Salt and pepper to taste. Place lid on top of crock pot. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.

My mom always used Snow Floss sauerkraut, too. It is no longer called Snow Floss - it's now Frank's. Comes from the same place - Fremont, Ohio. Good stuff!

I have made a pork roast with sauerkraut before. But I add a small can of crushed pineapple and brown sugar to the sauerkraut. Mix it together and place over the roast, you can also add potatoes, it turns out really good. Enjoy!

For those of you who want to reduce the tartness of the sauerkraut, you can put a little applesauce into the sauerkraut. The more applesauce you put into it, the more of a sweet & sour taste it has. Serve with/over mashed potatoes.

I put a boneless pork loin ribeye roast in my crock pot and put a jar of Claussen premium crisp sauerkraut on top. Cooked on low for 8 hours. Served over mashed potatoes.... It was wonderful! The only salt I used was in the mashed potatoes. It was liked even by a couple of kids who said they didn't like sauerkraut.

Made this for new year's day, sprinkled salt, pepper, garlic powder & a couple of squeezes of italian salad dressing, cooked on low for 10 hours, meat fell off the bone, easy & tasty recipe. Pork loin was not frozen.

Thanks! This is just what I needed! And it certainly doesn't need apples or brown sugar... not with sauerkraut. In this case, simple is great!

Be more creative. Add some diced-up apples, brown sugar, caraway seeds. Also pour some white wine over it.
