BANANA BREAD 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. unbleached flour (all purpose)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. mashed very ripe bananas
1/2 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Sift together dry ingredients and combine with butter mixture. Add bananas, sour cream and vanilla; stir well. Stir in nuts and pour into buttered and floured 9"x5"x3" loaf pan. Bake one hour. Turn out onto a rack to cool. Loaf will be golden brown. HINT: Bananas must be very ripe and pureed. Can decorate the top of bread with nuts before baking.
