PINEAPPLE SQUARES 
FILLING:

1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. butter (or Crisco)

Cook first four ingredients until thick and add a lump of butter.

DOUGH:

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter (or Crisco)
1/4 cup milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix dry ingredients with butter. Add milk, eggs and vanilla. Grease and flour a pan and press half of dough on bottom. Add pineapple mixture. Roll out dough top and cover so no pineapple is showing.

Bake at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes.
