PINEAPPLE SQUARES 
4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 lb. butter (half butter)
4 lg. egg yolks
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 lg. jar pineapple preserve or 2 sm. jars
Powdered sugar

Sift flour, baking powder, and sugar. Cut in butter. Beat egg yolks with fork and add to mixture. Add lemon and cinnamon. Mix well until smooth. Add 1/2 cup nuts last. Work until smooth. Divide dough, 3/4 for pan and pad in place. Spread pineapple preserves over dough evenly. Then spread remaining 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts over pineapple. Then take remaining dough, smooth out in pieces and place over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. After cool sift powdered sugar on top. Cut in squares. Enjoy. Yields 3 dozen.
