DROP DUMPLINGS | |
1 1/2 c. self rising flour 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. milk A little chopped parsley if desired 1 tbsp. mayonnaise (for shortening) Sift all this into mixing bowl and add milk and mayonnaise all at once. Stir rapidly until well blended. Drop by teaspoons on top of stewed chicken, dipping spoon into hot broth each time to keep from sticking. Cover and boil moderately for 12 minutes without uncovering. Then remove dumplings to hot platter arranging them around the outside of the chicken. Make sure there is at least 3 cups of boiling broth when adding dumplings to ensure there be enough gravy let after dumplings are done. Makes 5 servings. |
