BEST APPLE PIE | |
7 med. cooking apples, peeled and sliced 1/4 c. sugar 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 2 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel 2 tsp. lemon juice 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. butter Mix lightly the first eight ingredients. Pour mixture into an unbaked 9 inch pie shell. Dot with butter. Place pie crust on top, flute edges to form a high stand up edge. Bake 40-50 minutes at 425 degrees or until the crust is golden brown and apples are tender. |
