PORK BARBECUE SANDWICHES
Preparation time: about 30 minutes. Serves: 4.

1 lb. cooked pork, thinly sliced
4 lg. hamburger buns, buttered
Dill pickles, for garnish
Cole slaw, for garnish

BARBECUE SAUCE:

1 med. onion, sliced crosswise
1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
2 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. ketchup
1/2 c. dry white wine or sherry or water
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 tbsp. soy sauce

1. To prepare barbecue sauce, in a heavy saucepan, heat butter. Add onion and garlic. Saute, stirring constantly, 3 to 4 minutes until onion is soft.

2. Add remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling. Simmer 5 minutes.

3. Stir sliced pork into hot sauce. Cook over low heat until meat is hot.

4. Spoon pork with sauce into hamburger buns.

5. Garnish plate with dill pickles and cole slaw. Serve immediately.

Good served with: Fried onion rings and a cool dark beer, if desired. Recipe may be halved or doubled.

HEALTH NOTE: For healthier portions, trim fat from pork prior to adding to sauce. To lower sodium, use light soy sauce.

This is easy to make and tasted good with my left over pork from a roast-it should work good with beef also-I think
