BUTTERMILK BROWNIES 
Sift together and set aside:

2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Bring the following to a rapid boil:

2 sticks butter
4 tsp. cocoa
1 c. water

Add to the above dry mixture and stir together. Mix:

1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Mix together and pour into greased jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20- 30 minutes.

FROSTING:

Bring to a boil:

1 stick butter
2 tbsp. cocoa
5 to 6 tbsp. buttermilk

Add:

1 lb. box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Spread over warm brownies.
