ROSE'S BUTTERMILK BROWNIE 
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Sift above ingredients. Melt:

2 sticks butter
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water

Bring to boil, pour over dry ingredients. Beat. Then add:

1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Grease and flour large cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

FROSTING:

6 tbsp. butter
6 tbsp. milk
1 1/2 c. sugar

Bring to boil 1 minute. Add 1/2 cup chocolate and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Cool, spread on brownies.
