CARAMEL BARS | |
1 1/2 c. flour 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. butter, melted 1/4 tsp. salt 1 bag of caramels 8 tbsp. cream 1 1/2 c. chocolate chips 3/4 tsp. baking soda Mix the flour, sugar, butter, salt and soda together. Press 1/2 of this mixture in a 9"x13" pan. Reserve the other half for the top. Bake the bottom layer for 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Meanwhile, melt caramels and cream in double boiler. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked crust (no need to cool crust) and pour hot caramel mixture over the top of chips. Then sprinkle the reserved crumbs on top and bake for 15 to 20 minutes more. |
