CARAMEL CANDY BARS 
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1/2 c. milk
2 c. flour
2 c. oats (quick)
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 c. butter, softened
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped walnuts or dry roasted peanuts

Grease 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees. Heat caramels and milk over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth. Remove from heat and set aside. Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, soda, salt and egg in large bowl. Stir in butter and mix until crumbly. Press half of mixture onto pan and bake 10 minutes. Then sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Drizzle with caramel mixture. Put remaining crumbly mixture over top and press lightly with hand. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown. Cool 30 minutes, then loosen edges from sides of pan. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
