SNICKERDOODLES 
1 c. soft shortening
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
Cinnamon and sugar

Mix shortening, sugar and eggs thoroughly. Sift flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt together and stir into cream mixture. Form dough into balls, the size of walnuts. Roll in mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet, bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes about 5 dozen.
