CHOCOLATE CARAMEL-FILLED CAKE 
1 box Duncan Hines Swiss chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
1 stick butter
1/2 c. milk
6 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Prepare cake mix according to directions. Pour half of batter into a greased, floured 9- x 13-inch cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Set other half of batter aside.

While cake is baking, melt caramels, butter, and milk together. Stir constantly for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. When first half of cake batter has baked the 15 to 20 minutes, take out of oven and pour caramel mixture over hot cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over this. Pour remaining batter over all and bake until done.
