BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
8 c. slice cucumbers
2 c. thinly sliced onion
2 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. celery seed
2 tsp. turmeric
2 pieces stick cinnamon
4 green tomatoes (sliced thin)
3 c. sugar

Wash cucumbers and slice with skin on. Sprinkle with salt and cover with water. Let stand 1 hour, drain and rinse. Place these and remaining ingredients in pan. Bring to a boil and cook until cucumbers are tender to your own taste. Seal hot.
