VEGETABLE BEEF SOUP 
1 beef soup bone
1 lg. can whole tomatoes (take apart & include juice)
3 tbsp. rice
Salt & pepper
3 med. carrots, sliced & cut sm.
2 med. onions, chopped fine
3 stalks celery, cut up, tops too
3 sm. potatoes, cut in sm. cubes
2 cloves garlic, cut in sm. pieces

Put all ingredients in soup pot with cold water (maybe 2 to 3 quarts). Bring to a boil and simmer for 4 or 5 hours. Stir to keep from sticking. For more flavor add the herbs that you like. Suggestions: dry parsley, Beau Monde, dry marjoram, 2 to 3 dashes Tabasco.
