BUTTERY CINNAMON SKILLET APPLES 
1/3 c. butter
1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 med. cooking apples

In a 10 inch skillet melt butter over medium heat, stir in sugar and cornstarch. Mix well, add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook over medium heat, spooning sauce over apples are occasionally until apples are tender and sauce is thickened (12 to 15 minutes).

For variety I sometimes sprinkle a little red Jello right out of the box and let melt before serving or cook just a minute longer until dissolved.
