BUTTERY CINNAMON SKILLET APPLES 
1/3 c. butter
1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 med. cooking apples, cored, peeled and cut in halves

In heavy skillet melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar and cornstarch. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients. Cover, cook over medium heat, spooning over apples occasionally until they are fork tender and sauce is thickened (12 to 15 minutes). Yields 4 servings, 2 cups sauce.
